Pitta Balancing Spice and Salt Blends

These are my favorite two things to have on hand each season. They only take a few minutes to make and are an easy way to ensure you are getting the most supportive tastes of the season!

Summer Spice Blend

2 parts coriander seeds
2 parts fennel seeds
2 parts cumin seed
2 parts dried mint
1 part turmeric
1 part cardamom seeds

Dry roast coriander, fennel and cumin seeds over medium heat for a minute or so, until they become fragrant.

Let cool

Add to remaining ingredients in a spice blender or mortar and pestle and grind to a powder. Store in an airtight container for use throughout the season.

Summer Digestive Salt Blend

3 parts coarse Himalayan sea salt
1 part fennel seeds
1 part Meyer lemon zest

Combine all in a mortar and pestle or spice blender for just a couple of pulses so the salt is not ground too finely.

Store in an airtight container for use throughout the season.
